How Accurate Is Defibtech AED?
The Defibtech AED can deliver exceptional rhythm detection accuracy, ensuring shocks are given only when necessary.
- Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) detection accuracy: >98%
- Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) detection accuracy: >99%
- Normal sinus rhythm (non-shockable): 100% accuracy
What this means:
The AED delivers shocks accurately for life-threatening rhythms (VF/VT) and will never shock a person with a normal heart rhythm.
Many AEDs on the market only achieve ~90% VF and ~75% VT accuracy, increasing the risk of delayed or missed shocks. Defibtech significantly reduces this risk.
Does Defibtech AED Require Regular Maintenance?
No. Defibtech AED does not require routine Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) servicing as it performs daily, weekly, quarterly, and monthly self-tests automatically. If any issue is detected, the device will immediately alarm and display a Red Light. As long as the indicator is green, the device is rescue-ready.
The only maintenance checking is limited to scheduled replacement of consumables only:
- AED Pads: 2-year shelf life. Replace immediately after use.
- Battery: 4–7 years shelf life. Replacement is required only when the battery is drained or reaches its expiry date.
How Long Does the Defibtech AED Battery Last?
- Up to 7 Years Standby Mode (with a dedicated 4-Year Battery Warranty).
- High Performance: Capable of up to 16 hours of continuous operation or delivering 300 shocks.
- Cost Efficient: Only need to replace the AED pads after use or every 2 years. The battery does not require replacement after every incident unless fully drained.
